About the GGSA

The Geography Graduate Student Association is a University of South Carolina student organization dedicated to furthering professional, academic and personal development of graduate students interested in the field of geography and its sub disciplines and to promote the field of geography as a whole. Additionally, the GGSA aims to cultivate professionalism and civic responsibility via campus and community engagement. The GGSA aims to support all geography graduate students, full and part-time. We hold monthly meetings during the semester and host social events, including events in partnership with the Department of Geography (such as faculty run workshops). Membership in the GGSA is open to all current graduate students in the Geography Department at USC. Elections for officer positions are held at the end of each fall semester, and officers begin their terms at the start of each spring semester.
